Semarang, September 15, 2025Diponegoro University (Undip), through the Institute for Learning Development and Educational Quality Assurance (LP2MP), welcomed a visit from SMA Islam Al Azhar Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) on Monday (15/9) at the ICT Building, Undip Tembalang.

The visit was attended by a group of teachers and school leaders as part of an effort to strengthen collaboration and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) and the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), which has become one of the school’s preferred admission pathways.

During the session, Ir. M. Arfan, S.T., M.T., representing LP2MP Undip, expressed his appreciation for the visit from SMA Islam Al Azhar BSD. He also provided an overview of the latest updates regarding the new student admission mechanism for the 2026/2027 academic year.

One of the main points highlighted was that next year’s Academic Ability Test (TKA) will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. The test will cover three subjects: Indonesian Language, English, and Mathematics.

In addition, Mr. Arfan explained about the school index, which is one of the factors considered in the SNBP (Academic Achievement-Based National Selection) pathway. The index is determined nationally and calculated based on two main indicators:

  1. The GPA of alumni from the respective school who were previously admitted through the SNBP pathway and demonstrated strong academic performance in higher education.

  2. The number of students admitted through SNBP each year.

The more successful and high-achieving alumni a school produces, the higher its index will be.
However, it was emphasized that the school index is not the main determinant, as the individual evaluation of each applicant remains the primary focus of the selection process.

Regarding the IUP pathway, Mr. Arfan explained that this year there is no TOEFL requirement. Instead, applicants will take an English test and an interview, both conducted in English, as part of the selection process.
This mechanism is considered more practical and provides a more direct and comprehensive assessment of the applicants’ English proficiency.

The representatives of SMA Islam Al Azhar BSD warmly welcomed the explanation, particularly noting that the IUP pathway aligns well with the school’s internationally oriented vision.

To conclude the event, Mr. Arfan mentioned that SNPMB socialization activities will be conducted earlier than in previous years, allowing schools more time to prepare their strategies and provide guidance for their students.

The visit concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session, which is expected to further strengthen the collaboration between Undip and SMA Islam Al Azhar BSD in supporting educational quality improvement and helping students achieve success in pursuing higher education.
